This treasured artwork has a deep connection to the Convent of the Capuchin Friars in Florence. It originated from the convent and, upon the completion of its meticulous restoration, will once again grace its walls, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the community and its visitors.

Francesco Curradi (1570-1661) was a prominent painter of the Florentine school, known for his delicate rendering of religious subjects and his masterful use of color and light. This particular depiction of the Madonna and Child is a testament to his artistic skill and offers a poignant glimpse into the religious devotion of the era.

Over time, however, the painting has inevitably suffered the effects of age and environmental factors. Our restoration project aims to carefully address these issues, bringing the artwork back to its former glory for future generations to appreciate.
